 Hello, viewers! Today, we are going to be talking about bats! Bats often have a bad reputation, but bats are not bad. We have had bats living in the roof of our house for years and they have never bothered us. According to AZ Animals, three fun facts about bats is that: 1. Bats don't suck blood. They simply bite their pray, which is most commonly sleeping mammals, such as cows. After they bite the area, they lick up the blood!  2. Bats keep tons of bugs away from your house. Varying on the size of the bat, they can eat up to 600 insects an hour! 3. Bats that do drink blood only drink about a teaspoon of blood every half an hour! According to AZ Animals the Oceanic White Tip is critically endangered and lives in tropical oceans worldwide. According to AZ Animals, the Oceanic White Tips numbers have declined over resent  years due to Shark finning. The Ninth Shark on the endangered list is the Dagger Nose shark. According  to AZ Animals The Dagger Nose Shark lives in shallow tropical waters off the coast of south America. Dagger Nose Sharks are critically endangered and are close to extinction this is mainly due to bycatch.  Hello viewers! We are talking about the next 2 sharks on the endangered list. The sixth shark on the endangered list is the Sand Tiger Shark. Why is the Sand Tiger Shark endangered? According to AZ Animals the Sand Tiger Shark lives in tropical and subtropical climates all over the world. They live in the shallow waters of coasts. According to AZ Animals the Sharks in Australia and South Africa travel over 1,000 miles yearly. They have calves and then travel north to mate. According to AZ Animals, the Sand Tiger Shark is mostly endangered because they have the lowest reproduction rate of any shark. Taking 2-3 years and only have 1 or 2 calves. I am listing the next three sharks on the endangered list. The third shark on the endangered list is the Dusky shark. According to AZ Animals, the Dusky shark lives in tropical waters. They normally feed on the bottom of the ocean. Fun Fact: they have five pairs of gills! Why is the dusky shark endangered? According to AZ Animals, they are sought out for their fins and are caught by sport fisherman. Large numbers have also been caught in shark nets off the coasts of Australia and South America, which may have resulted in their decreased numbers. They have a year gap between pregnancies.  Hello viewers! We're going to talk about the importance of sharks, their population and preservation efforts. Sharks play important roles in the ocean's food webs and  ecosystems. They are wonderful creatures and greatly misunderstood. Shark Population According to americanoceans.org, about 100 million sharks are  killed every year and over 11,000 sharks killed every  hour worldwide. This is higher than the recovery rates, meaning that there are not enough sharks born to make up for those that die, hurting the population. The global shark population has decreased by 70% since 1970.   Maybe you have seen  Jaws   or  The Meg and it shows a negative perspective on sharks and has caused fear and misunderstanding to spread. However, it is important to note that there are only about 6 to 8 people killed by sharks each  year. According to the World Wildlife Fund, the Great White is threatened by bycatch, hunting and getting entangled in the mesh that protects beaches and more. Population and how we can help. According to Our Endangered World, the current population (as of January) is 3,500 sharks and we can help. The World Wildlife Fund is supporting the sharks by monitoring and researching the Great Whites. The sharks are tagged and tracked by satellites. It's SharkFest month! I'm going to list the most endangered sharks over a few weeks and why they're endangered. The shark that is number one on the endangered list of sharks, is the Common Thresher Shark. Why are they the most endangered shark? The Common Thresher Shark is most endangered because of; habitat loss, overfishing, bycatch, pollution, climate change and much more. Population and how we can help. There are three species of thresher sharks. These are the Pelagic Thresher, Common Thresher and Bigeye Thresher. It is unknown how many are left because they are so rarely spotted. The first birth seen on camera of a thresher shark was in 2013. According to Pewtrusts.org, up to 3.9 million thresher sharks are killed each year in commercial  fisheries. Hello! I'm going to be talking about how June's Journey (a mystery game where you find hidden objects and build an island). They offer Wildlife Week which will donate $100,000 to the Snow Leopard Trust if the June's Journey community collects 500,000 animal decorations. Each player can collect up to three decorations if they complete the milestones from May 31 through June 6 of 2023. If you win 3 milestones, you get Himalayan animal decorations for your island. Greenhouse gasses are slowly warming the Earth.  According to US EP, this is caused by carbon dioxide which makes up most of green house gasses, but, there are small amounts of other stuff such as, methane and nitrous oxide these are all released during the combustion of   fossil fuels, these include coal, oil and natural gas to produce electricity. Rising Temperatures Ever since the industrial revolution in   1760 greenhouse gasses have increased significantly. Do you know what that means?
